A Language and Culture Immersion in Morocco

The Amazigh populations are the native inhabitants of North Africa, numbering an estimated 25 million people. Morocco has three main Amazigh dialects: Tachelhit, Tarifit, and Tamazight.

This program offers participants a deep dive into the language, history, arts, and cultural practices of the Amazigh communities. Students gain linguistic skills, cultural insight, and hands-on experiences that highlight Morocco’s rich indigenous heritage.

Teaching Methodology

  • Program Schedule (4 Weeks):

    Weeks 1–2:
    Morning language classes at ILCS Rabat.
    Lectures on Amazigh history, identity, culture, and arts.

    Weeks 3–4:
    Travel to an Amazigh region in Morocco. Conduct research and participate in service-learning projects.
    Stay with local families in homestays to experience daily life and customs.
